New Directions

So it's come to this... an opportunity, a chance, a choice.

I've archived a lot of my old content, scrapped ideas, and made a decision -- it is time to pivot.

Why do I need to pivot? Because it's required. To get where I need / want to be, something needs to change.

If I am who I say / think I am, you have nothing to worry about.

Going to #ASW18

Going to #ASW18

This year, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to fly to Vegas and finally see what Affiliate Summit West was all about.

And I gotta say, I had one helluva time. And it was pretty much exactly like the movies.

Exploring the Strip, hitting the conference floor, networking and meeting the people I work with for the first time ever -- it was pretty fucking awesome.

Theories and Biases

I love learning about people think. Understanding how the human brain processes information and make decisions is key to understanding how the world works.

Psychologists, economists and other eggheads (not actually, these people are more am smart than me) have come up with really interesting ways to describe these near incomprehensible subjects. This post is a huge collection of different theories and biases that lurk beneath the surface of our personal relationships, interconnected economy and world history.

Making Stuff

Do you remember when you were a kid and someone asked you;

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Do you remember what your answer was?

I do. For the longest time, I wanted to be a famous filmmaker (big shocker, I know). As I grew older (and realized life really isn’t that simple), I altered course and it eventually led me to marketing, product management and, of course, entrepreneurship.

Even still, it hasn’t left me with any clear direction or path.

And you know what? I’m okay with that.

Over the past little while, I have been struggling to define myself, my role and my future. What am I going to do? How am I going to do it? And most importantly, who the fuck am I?

Product Marketing Guide

I’ve been wanting to write this post for a long time now. Mostly because it is like going to determine the direction my life is going to take from here on out.

This post is going to be about product marketing.

Before I start, I have a confession to make: I’m not a Product Marketer — at least, I don’t think I am…

.. Not yet.

Maybe I am, but it’s more likely that I’m just a punk marketer who is really passionate about creating and sharing great products.

Facebook Ads Guide

I've been wanting to write an in-depth guide on Facebook Ads for a while now. As a media buyer and product marketer (especially as someone who is new in their career), I believe that Facebook is a fantastic platform to learn. If there's anyone out there who is thinking about becoming a digital marketer, I would wholeheartedly recommend learning how to use the Facebook Ads platform.

Best of all, it's not all that hard to learn the basics! So that's what this guide is, to introduce you to the basic fundamentals and get you up and running with your first campaign!

Facebook Advertising can be extremely effective for promoting your business, driving traffic and generating leads. With over a billion daily active users, a wide variety of campaign and ad types, and advanced targeting features, knowing how to run advertising campaigns on Facebook is an essential skills for modern digital marketers.

The folks over at Facebook are constantly improving their ad platform -- which means that advertisers are being given more and more tools to run successful ad campaigns.

In this guide, I’m going to introduce you to basic concepts and fundamentals behind Facebook Ads and how to launch your own campaign.

Going to #INBOUND16

Going to #INBOUND16

Sometimes I gotta pinch myself. The amazing company I work for sent me to Boston to attend #INBOUND16, Hubspot's annual inbound marketing conference.

You probably don't know how big of a deal this actually is. I've been watching keynotes from Inbound on YouTube for the past three years. The idea of ever actually attending the conference almost never crossed my mind.

And I got to go this year. All of it was paid for by work. And I am so grateful to my work for giving me the opportunity to travel and learn with over 18,000 marketers. It was an experience I will never forget.

How To Create An Online Course

One of the biggest hurdles in creating an online course is the technical challenge of producing engaging, relevant and high-quality content for your students. I've been working on creating some new online courses to add to my library and I wanted to share my process and some of the tools and resources that I use when I create an online course.

Course Creator Essentials:

  • Microphone (webcam optional)
  • Presentation software
  • Screen recording and editing software
  • Learning Management System

This guide is going to dig into some of the different tools that you can use to create and a launch your very first online course. Let's dig in.

Creating a Podcast with Squarespace

Creating a Podcast with Squarespace

I love podcasts. And if you've listened to pretty much any mainstream podcast, you've probably heard an ad for Squarespace on your favourite show. In addition to sponsoring tons of podcasts, Squarespace has also added podcasting seamlessly into it's website builder.

There's something cool about the fact that someone could listen to a podcast, hear a Squarespace ad, be inspired to start a podcast of their own, and then use Squarespace to host and manage their new creative endeavour.

I also plan on using Squarespace for my own audio projects! So I thought I'd create a little tutorial video showing you how to create a podcast using Squarespace. If you've been itching to launch your own show, Squarespace is a fantastic platform to do it on.

Obligatory "Hello, World!"

Well.. here it is. My brand-spanking-new Squarespace site. I've been looking forward to getting this up for a long time now and now that I've begun the process of creating the site; I'm feeling more excited than ever.

Since the creation of my first online course, I have definitely been putting off the creation of this site but for good reason. On March 10th, 2016, I married my best friend in the world and I feel more full of life than ever. I feel ready and prepared to take on the world in a way that I ever thought I could.
